Reflex Testing

A reflex microscopic examination of the urine (test NBLD0198) will be performed if one or more of the following criteria are met:

     Protein: Positive
     Blood: Positive
     Leukocyte Esterase: Positive
     Nitrite: Positive
     Color: Bright Orange or Orange

 

A urine culture will be performed (test MICR0013) when one or more of the following criteria are met:
     Positive Leukocyte Esterase with WBC value ≥6 cells/hpf.
     Positive Leukocyte Esterase with Positive Nitrite.
     Positive Nitrite with WBC value ≥6 cells/hpf
